About this climb
Coll de sa Batalla is the climb from the plain up into the Tramuntana that most visiting riders do first. From Caimari to the col it measures about 8.3 km and gains 410 m, an average of just under 5 %.
The gradient is friendly. Most kilometres are between 5 and 6 %, and about two-thirds of the way up the road eases for a kilometre before the final stretch. It is a climb you can ride at a steady, honest effort, which makes it a good way to find out how your legs are on the first day of a trip.
At the top, the café next to the petrol station is the traditional place to stop.
Use the calculator to compare efforts: the gap between Steady and All out on a climb this long is a few minutes, not a few seconds.
The climb was measured on a ride by a local, with elevations from the official Spanish terrain model.

There is an easier kilometre about two-thirds of the way up. Use it to recover before the last push to the café.
